Bandaids are great. They are not always the right thing to use in tech. When a problem arises, there are fixes to solve the problem completely, workarounds to avoid the problem and band aids to temporarily fix the problem. The best solution is always to fix the problem where you can.
Let’s take a simple example. Your computer is 4 years old running minimum specifications and is slowing down. A band aid would be to run software optimization to get it to speed up. A fix or long term solution would be to upgrade.
Sure, sometimes the band aid can save you money. Though the solutions commonly save you time and frustration, which is worth multitudes more.
